Contestants are evaluated based on submitted videos. Selection is carried out remotely by a specialized jury of 4 members.

Four stages, one clear path: from online selection to live finals in Italian theatres.
Born in the Opera is structured in multiple stages: starting from videos submitted online, through public selection evaluated by a jury of experts, to live finals.
- Entries: unlimited.
- Phase II access: up to 300 selected.
- Phase III access: 250 selected (with new videos).
- Final Match: the top 32 compete in live finals.
Phase II
Second Selection + New Videos
From 300 selected, 250 contestants will be chosen who must submit new videos, following guidelines provided after Phase I. Selection by a commission of 3 members from the opera world.

Required output: new videos, consistent with guidelines
Phase III
Publishing + Expert Evaluation
Selected videos will be published on social channels and the website. Online content will be evaluated by a jury of 6 experts composed of:
- an opera agent
- an artistic director of an opera house / traditional theater
- a social media manager
- a conductor
- an opera singer
- a “Born in the Opera” production manager
Fase Finale — The Final Match
The top 32 contestants from the overall ranking will participate in 4 live finals held in 4 Italian theaters.
Winners of the final evenings will be guaranteed a contract for the next opera season at a sponsoring opera house or traditional theater.
All finalists will be guaranteed participation in nationally renowned festivals or opera events.
